We all love the convenience and experience of eating out, but does it mean we have to abandon our balanced diet? Absolutely not! Here are some straightforward tips on how to maintain your diet while enjoying your favorite restaurants.

Plan Ahead

If you have a plan, you’re setting yourself up for success. Most restaurants have their menus available online. Look at the menu before you go, and decide what you’ll have. Stick to your decision when you order, and you’ll avoid last-minute unhealthy choices.

Portion Control

Restaurant portions can be huge! You can always share a meal with a friend or ask your server to box up half of your meal before it even gets to the table.

Swap The Sides

If your meal comes with fries or another unhealthy side, ask to substitute it for a healthier option like a salad, veggies, or a baked potato.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking enough water not only keeps you hydrated but can also help you eat less. Drink a glass of water before your meal arrives, and you’ll probably find that you’re satisfied with less food.
