Warm-Up and Cool-Down Exercises You Shouldn’t Skip

Hey there, fitness buffs! We all have a busy schedule, and sometimes, it is tempting to skip the warm-up or cool-down phase of our workout. But as guys from Crossfit Newmarket Central, we say: don’t! These two key stages of a workout routine are crucial for promoting effective performance and preventing injuries. So, without further ado, here are some exercises you should integrate into your routine.

Warming Up Your Engines

Warm-up exercises are designed to gradually prepare your body for a workout by boosting your heart rate and circulation. This will help you to loosen your joints and increase blood flow to the muscles. Some warm-up exercises include:

  • March on the spot while swinging your arms
  • Jumping jacks
  • Arm pumps
  • Leg swings

Cooling Down: Just As Important

While it may be easy to oversee, cooling down after your workout is essential. It helps to regulate your blood circulation and cool your body temperature. Here some cool-down exercises you can do:

  • Walking
  • Cycling at a slow pace
  • Stretching

Don’t Skip, Just Do It

So, don’t be tempted to skip that warm-up or cool-down exercise. Regardless of the type of workout you’re doing, or how tough it is, making time for these segments can make a real difference in how well you recover and are ready to go again.
